Strike Carbon 16x38mm x 8mm Modular Felt Baffle System. These are specifically designed for airsoft suppressors/mock suppressors to dampen the "pop" of the air expansion, especially on HPA (High Pressure Air) or AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) builds.
Product Overview
The Fat-Can is a high-volume suppressor (often 38mm inner diameter) that uses these felt inserts rather than traditional metal or plastic baffles. Because carbon fiber tubes are lightweight but resonate easily, these felt pads are essential for achieving that "extra quiet" "thud" sound rather than a metallic "ping."
How the System Works
-
The Shapes: You have two distinct types of felt baffles in your pile:
-
Standard Washers (Small Hole): These provide the primary surface area to catch and slow down the air.
-
Hexagonal Openings (Large Hole): These act as spacers and expansion chambers.
-
-
Modular Setup: The "modular" aspect allows you to experiment with the sequence. A common high-performance configuration is:
-
Alternating: One washer, one hex spacer, one washer, etc.
-
Expansion Zones: Putting 2–3 hex spacers together near the base (where the air enters) to allow for initial expansion before hitting the smaller-holed washers.
-
Installation Tips for "Extra Quiet" Performance
-
Alignment is Key: Ensure the central holes are perfectly aligned. If a BB clips the felt, it will tear the material and ruin your accuracy.
-
Don't Overstuff: While it’s tempting to pack them in tight, the system needs air gaps (created by the hex spacers) to actually dissipate the energy of the air.
-
Maintenance: Over time, these can collect dust or lubricant from your GBB (Gas Blowback) rifles. If they get soaked in silicone oil, they lose their "fluff" and sound-dampening efficiency, so check them periodically.
Quick Specs Check:
-
Compatibility: Designed for 38mm Inner Diameter (ID) tubes.
